Some are major, like our CT20! Voluntourism Scholarship, and some are individual, personal moments of charity represented by our own travel specialists. Each time we participate in a give-back initiative, we write about it below to raise awareness about the amazing organizations we've come to know throughout the year. Have an opportunity you'd like us to consider? We'd love to hear it- please email us here.
This winter, Cadence collected gently used, nearly-new professional attire for local organization's initiative for career-driven women.
Urban Angels is a Nonprofit Organization formed to nourish and provide food for the homeless of San Diego. We joined in to help on just one of the food services they provide 7 days a week, every single day of the year.
Cadence adopted a family in need for the holidays and showered them with wrapped gifts based on their wish lists and anticipated needs.
This year, one of our "CT20!" reps joined in on a group trip to Tijuana for a very special Christmas party to ensure that 150 local children were able to celebrate the holiday.
Every year, our local Embassy Suites by Hilton in La Jolla hosts a tree decorating and raffle event to benefit Braille Institute. We filled our travel-themed tree with handmade ornaments that said "hello" in languages from around the world.
Working in the travel industry creates of a lot of opportunities for hoarding tiny bottles of hotel shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion. This year, we found a much better place for our collections than the back of our bathroom cabinets!
Time spent with seniors brings so much joy to both parties and as an added bonus, we can also learn so much from them. However, we recently read a statistic that 85% of people in nursing homes sadly don’t get visitors.
By way of stick-on mustaches, Cadence officially raised funds and showed our support for a loyal client's personal 30-day Movember campaign.
We supported the largest hunger-relief organization in San Diego County with a week-long food drive at our headquarters... And were shocked to see our entire bin was overflowing past the brim!
Every year, Samaritan's Purse hosts National Collection Week, where shoeboxes are filled with hand-picked gifts and mailed to children around the world. If you have a few minutes, you can do it all from your computer any time of year!
Lions and tigers and scares, oh my! With the help of a few jungle friends, Cadence hosted a candy filled safari to inspire the littlest of future travelers.
If you follow Kid President as much as we do (we're borderline obsessed), you may already know how to do Socktober. If not, we'll explain.
On Sunday, October 4th, our team of Cadence employees arrived early to register walkers and cheer them on for one of our favorite fundraising events of the year.
For many, surfing is the ultimate escape. For others, like wheelchair bound Charles Webb, it is the ultimate therapy. We turned to our travel partnerships to help him compete in the opportunity of a lifetime: Duke's OceanFest in Hawaii.
Hosted by Center for Compassionate Care of The Elizabeth Hospice, Camp Erin San Diego is a free annual weekend summer camp open to local children and teens who are grieving from the death of someone close to them.
Hosted by our neighbors at Keller Williams La Jolla, in partnership with the San Diego Blood Bank, RED Day is an annual give back initiative in the community of La Jolla.
Since 1941, USO (United Service Organization) San Diego has been serving active-duty, reserve, guard and military families in effort to enhance the quality of life of the U.S. Armed Forces personnel and their families.
2015 is a milestone for Cadence- we're celebrating our twentieth birthday! Our travel specialists will be spending the year paying it forward in twenty ways, starting with a giveaway for two free nights for two at Montage Beverly Hills!
We believe travel creates opportunities to both see and change the world. We raised $5000 to send one local student to Fiji where they will visit local schools, work on clean water projects, train locals on sustainability practices, and set up reforestation projects.
Our final act of CT20 and second annual holiday charity event benefited one of our favorite local charities. And, drum roll please.... We exceeded our fundraising goal by $3000!
