Cadence Turns 20: 9th Annual Rady Children's Hospital Family Walk at SeaWorld

On Sunday, October 4th, our team of Cadence employees arrived early to register walkers and cheer them on for one of our favorite fundraising events of the year.

Since its inaugural event in 2007, the Rady Children’s Hospital Family Walk has raised $1,715,098.88. These funds make it possible for Rady Children’s to provide lifesaving technology, as well as life-changing care and services, such as social work, Child Life services and chaplaincy.

While some needs are crucial to survival, others are to simply help the children cope through their illnesses. For example, Rady Children’s provides care to nearly 197,000 patients, uses more than 276,000 diapers, gives out more than 176,000 Bugs Bunny bandages and goes through 1,400 packs of crayons in their playrooms.

“We showed up at 7:30 to welcome the participants for the 3-Mile Fun Walk. It was amazing to see all the different groups that showed up in support- from families and coworkers to kids and their grandparents. After registration, we handed out water to the walkers and congratulated them at the finish line. It was a little rainy, but everyone’s spirits were shining bright for such a great cause,” said Caroline Hottinger of Cadence.
