Heads up! No one is getting randomly selected for TSA Precheck® anymore

Do you always get that exciting little note on your boarding pass?

Do you always get that exciting little note on your boarding pass?

As savvy business travelers ourselves, we totally get the necessity of TSA Precheck®. And it's not so much about the debatably shorter lines as it is the convenience of getting to keep our shoes on and our laptops in our bags. Score!

It was recently announced that starting in September 2015, travelers who do not pay membership fees for a trusted traveler program will no longer be randomly selected for TSA Precheck®'s expedited screening.

If you followed this step from a few months back, you're golden, as long as your name is exactly the same in the following four places:

  1. The Government ID you travel with
  2. Your next airplane ticket (if you book through an online booking tool or through a travel management company, you need to ensure your name is updated on their stored traveler profile)
  3. Known Traveler Account (from TSA Precheck® or Global Entry)
  4. Frequent Flier Account

If there are currently any variances (nicknames, missing middle names, etc.), this could be why you aren't being recognized for expedited security screening. Have questions? Ask your dedicated travel specialist for help.
