What to avoid wearing on your next flight
Who What Wear (original article here) interviewed a former TSA Agent of LAX with five years of experience in security line wardrobe malfunctions. Here's her list of the worst things to wear for air travel:
Maxi skirts: If you opted out of the pat down, there's one other option. You've been warned.
Bobby pins: Too many and your head will set off the metal detector.
Cargo pants/shorts: All those pockets are asking for a hidden lighter or random spare key...
Metal bracelets/necklaces: It's best to wait until after your screening to get jeweled up for the day.
Inspired, we had a few to add from our own experiences:
Complicated shoes: If you can't put it on with your free hand while balancing on one foot, it's not the right shoe.
Tight clothing: Have you heard of deep vein thrombosis? It's potentially life threatening.
Strong perfume or cologne: Be conscious of your seat mate who may not appreciate your signature scent. A rule of thumb: the best passengers smell like nothing at all.
