What Earth Day means to a global travel company
There’s an old native proverb that goes, “We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.” As an organization of hundreds of passionate travel planners, we fully grasp the need to protect the world we’re so eager to explore.
While eco-friendly initiates are nothing new and ever evolving, the pace at which society adopts them could always use a good push, right? Corporate Social Responsibility paints a picture of successful organizations owning their debt to society by giving back. For a travel company like ours, that naturally includes educating ourselves and our clients on sustainability through ecotourism.
The better we understand our global affect on the world around us, the more responsibility and purpose we instill for reducing our own individual environmental impact.
That being said, in honor of Earth Day 2016, let's all seek out ways to incorporate an educational aspect to your travel this year. Whether it's planting a tree at Four Seasons Hualalai or participating in an Ambassadors of the Environment cause at Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Reserve, there are thousands of opportunities to increase your awareness of the beautiful, powerful, incredible planet we call home.
Meeting Planners: Next time you're considering a stunning, tropical locale, think about how your group can pay it forward in paradise.
Road Warriors: Consider how you can utilize technology and innovation to up the "eco-friendliness" of your next trip. For starters, mobile apps and refillable water bottles can eliminate waste.
