Know your current frequent flyer promotions: August 2016

If you’re a frequent flyer on one of these airlines, you might be enjoying some extra perks this summer!

Southwest
Rapid Rewards Points can be used to pay the $85 application fee for TSA PreCheck. (More info on that here).

Delta
If you like shopping, your first $50 online purchase from Gilt Groupe will earn you 1,000 miles and another mile for every dollar spent from there. (Medallion members get two miles per dollar spent!) Just enter your SkyMiles number during checkout.

Virgin Atlantic
If you’re a Flying Club member, bringing your pet along for select flights can earn you at least 1,000 extra miles, and in some cases, up to 2,000 miles. Their hold is heated and air conditioned just like the cabin, but it’s always important to check if it is safe for your furry friend to travel on airplanes.

United
If you have a United-branded credit card, sign up for the Visa Checkout program and spend $5 within 15 days of signing up to get 500 extra miles. (It’s a lot to have lined up, but if its applies to you, you have until September 30th!).
