Hotel del Coronado: Fresh-Faced & Fabulous
Welcome to The Del, a favorite of discerning travelers for more than 135 years. Here, on one of America’s most iconic beaches, Southern California shines brightest, encapsulating the magic and nostalgia of a classic, Victorian-style resort with contemporary luxury in 938 guest rooms.
Fresh off a $550M+ renovation, restoration and development, Hotel del Coronado has been enhanced from tip to toe to preserve its status as a National Historic Landmark and prized destination in SoCal. Along the way, they’ve discovered surprising traces of the past, from entire rooms to staircases, and have worked to infuse the new with the old to keep the story alive.
Sitting pretty on Coronado Island, just across the bay from Downtown San Diego and its many attractions, The Del encompasses five distinct neighborhoods, each brimming with character and amenities of their own, while providing full access to the resort for all guests. From the shaded private cabanas at the pool to the fringed umbrellas lining Del Beach, from yoga on the sand at sunrise to shopping for signature apparel at the Shops at The Del, the resort is a state of mind even more than it is a destination. It’s a feeling of the simple luxuries of sun, sea and time together, where your senses engage and you’re transported to a blissful paradise.
With easy access to one of the United States’ most beloved and vibrant cities, and a historic resort setting that seamlessly weaves in traditional accents with modern comforts, The Del is your personal California dream.
Lights, Camera, Holiday!
Imagine whirling around an ice-skating rink in view of the ocean, or cozying up in a sparkling igloo on the white sand as the sun sets. With these treats and more in store, The Del knows how to do the holidays right. This year, they’re inviting guests to step back in time to the splendor of Old Hollywood, lighting up the property with dazzling Christmas trees and garlands that take you back to the timeless elegance of Marilyn Monroe in Some Like It Hot. Ruby, cherry, soft black, shimmering gold and silver, and, of course, diamonds and pearls, make everything vibrant during this magical season.
Look forward to Skating by the Sea®, the Frostbite Lounge, special holiday dining events in the beautifully restored Crown Room, “All That Jazz” Lightshow Spectacular, Beachside Igloos and more.

Resort Amenities - How to Do The Del
Dining: Something for Every Palate
Foodies, rejoice. With refreshed dining venues throughout the property, there’s a place for all tastes at The Del. Serea offers upscale, sustainable, sea-to-table dining in an indoor-outdoor design, where the stunning view of the Pacific Ocean takes center stage. For cocktails and light bites, stop into Babcock & Story, with its restored original mahogany bar, or the Sun Deck, where you’ll have a front-row sea on the most spectacular sunset on the West Coast.
Casual settings include ENO Market & Pizzeria with extensive grab-and-go offerings as well as gazebo and indoor dining; Sundaes for sweet treats; and the Beach + Taco Shack bar just steps from the waves.
Don’t miss The Laundry Pub, where you’ll step into a chapter of hotel history. Originally built in 1919 to serve the laundry needs of both The Del and local Coronado residents, The Laundry was restored as part of the hotel’s $550M reimagining. The original brickwork was revealed after layers of paint were removed by hand, and the former conveyor system tracks are still in place above the restored wood floors. Today it’s a vibrant Coronado eatery, known for great brews, classic pub fare and nostalgic games for all ages.
And finally, Nobu Del Coronado will open in early 2025, in the last phase of The Del’s restoration and revitalization.
