Cadence Turns Twenty: Adopting a Family for Holiday Gifts
Cadence adopted a family in need for the holidays and showered them with wrapped gifts based on their wish lists and anticipated needs.
The Adopt-A-Family Stewardship program provides an opportunity for parishioners to share their blessings with those who are in need, through “adopting” (sponsoring) families who may not otherwise be able to provide during the holiday season. Due to El Nino, most families are also in need of umbrellas, towels and ponchos to protect themselves from the forecasted weather. They also welcome are toiletries, school supplies and Walmart or Vons gift cards.
Our family, Gabriel and Alejandra, have a two year old boy and a three month old little girl. Their wish lists included warm pajamas and warm jackets as well as age-appropriate toys.
Drop-offs are collected annually at the Parish Hall at Saint Gregory the Great. Interested in participating next year? Visit: http://www.stgg.org/home/serve/parish-outreach/adopt-a-family.
