Do you miss being out on the road? Us too. Things may be a little different right now and not traveling has been one of our biggest challenges. But this too shall pass (so the saying goes) and it won’t be long before we’re all back doing what we love. We’ve been seeing a recent string of good news for travelers and companies the past few weeks and we'd like to share two key updates on things we know are important to you.

REWARDS PROGRAM INFORMATION

In case you missed it, many travel partners (air, car, and hotel companies) are extending status and loyalty program rewards in response to the current lull in travel. Now all of that hard work you put in to earn your rewards will get you a little further and last a little bit longer. Click on the respective logos below to access the latest information by brand.

AIRLINE CREDIT INFORMATION

In addition to the changes in rewards programs, some of the major airlines are offering extended periods of time to utilize any airline credits you may have accrued prior to the current travel restrictions or received as a result of cancelled flights. Those credits can now be more easily applied to future bookings with this updates. See below for additional information!

American

If you have an unused ticket with an expiration date that is between March 1, 2020 and September 30, 2020, the value of your unused ticket can be used for travel through December 31, 2021.

United

Any tickets issued between May 1, 2019 and March 31, 2020 will now have 24-month validity for reissue.

Delta

All applicable eCredits will be automatically extended through May 31, 2022. Additionally, Delta has also introduced complimentary name changes for qualifying tickets with no waiver code needed, for impacted travel through June 2020. This benefit also applies with Delta partners Air France, KLM and Virgin Atlantic. Qualifying tickets may be rebooked for travel through May 31, 2022.

Southwest

Expanding the window of funds eligible for extended expiration dates and extending the expiration date of these funds. Funds that are set to expire or funds that are created between March 1, 2020 and September 7, 2020, will have an expiration date of September 7, 2022.

In addition, if Southwest cancels a flight, and the passenger did not cancel before that, the traveler can rebook without paying a difference, obtain a credit for future use, or they can now request a full refund.

Thats’ all for now!  We’ll continue to update and add to this list to keep you up to speed.

Leah + Chardell
