Your Travel Carbon Footprint

Your Travel Carbon Footprint

As a travel company, it would be careless of us to not consider the impact that our industry has on our ecosystem.  While travel can be truly inspirational, there is ever-increasing data pointing to its negative effects on our planet as well. At Cadence, more and more of our travelers are expressing interest in learning about their own carbon footprint, ways to give back, and how to create a more sustainable world in which to continue to travel and explore.  We’re here to help!

Below are just a few interesting articles and clever resources we’ve found along our own journey to awareness and discovery.

  • Forbes rounds up 50 companies in the travel industry who are working to reduce their carbon footprints.

  • The ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) ICAO has developed a methodology to calculate the carbon dioxide emissions from air travel for use in offset programs.   Read more and access their calculator here.
